Good news for PC owners of BioShock: 2K Games has discontinued their absurdly stupid DRM program that only allowed five simultaneous installations of their award-winning game.
2k Games’ Community Manager Elizabeth Toby on 2K’s official forums:
As promised, all activation restrictions, including install limits, have been removed from BioShock PC as of today. You don’t have to patch or install anything for this to go into effect for your copy of BioShockâ€â€it’s already done!
No patch to install? Sweet. Now I can go and install BioShock on all 72,644 PCs I own! Thanks, 2K!
Meanwhile, earlier this week Blizzard released a patch that would finally allow players who still played Diablo II (yes, they still exist) to finally be able to play without the disc. The game was released back in 2000, for the record.
Now, if EA could just figure out that these kinds of DRMs are absurd and should be abolished, we’d be in business.
