Street Fighter IV in Japanese Arcades this Summer

During the Amusement Machine Operators’ Union, Capcom was present and showing off how far along Street Fighter IV’s development is coming. As shown by the last batch of screenshots released, we all can see that this baby is just about ready to play. Capcom confirms all our suspicions with a leaflet passed out to attendees of the show saying that they plan on a summer release in Japan.

Gamespot posted this information along with some additional specifics on what machine you might be playing this on, which is a Taito VEWLIX arcade cabinet. This will bring a 16:9 LCD monitor that will run at 720p (I would expect to pay no less than a $1 per game). Check below for an example of what the cabinet looks like along with a picture of some people playing a game.

All you Americans reading, rest assured, even if Capcom doesn’t find a distributer in the U.S., Kotaku has reported that some specialty arcades and stores have ordered the machine through importers directly.
