Activision Announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Guitar Hero 5

When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was released and just about swept every award it was nominated for and possibly even winning three Grammys and a Tony award, rumors quickly began to swirl that Infinity Ward was working on a shooter that was set in the not-so-distant future that was to incorporate a science fiction feel to it.

Well we now know that this probably isn’t the case as Activision has announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The announcement was made at a press event that was held in conjunction with in-game advertiser Massive Inc., who Activision recently signed a deal with to plaster advertisements in all their games.

No details were released on the game other than that we can expect to see it in the fall of 2009. Let us hope it will continue the adventures of the most charismatic man in gaming — Soap McTavish (manly).

Activision also announced that they were working on a new entry in the Guitar Hero franchise, Guitar Hero 5, and Activision even showed a screenshot of the game that showed off a Burger King advertisement to the right of the highway.
