New ‘Guitar Hero: Aerosmith’ songs lack Aerosmith

When you hear that they’re making a game called “Guitar Hero Aerosmith“, you would expect to find a set list full of songs like “Cryin’”, “Crazy”, “Pink”, or that horrendous “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing”. What you don’t expect are songs like…

  • Joan Jett - Hate Myself for Lovin’ You
  • The Kinks - All Day and All Night
  • Cheap Trick - Dream Police
  • Mott the Hoople (who?) - All the Young Dudes
  • …what the hell? These aren’t Aerosmith. Sure, Joan Jett is pretty butch, but she’s not Aerosmith. Look, I understand that there are going to be other bands in this game. However, when you’re talking about a game called, literally, Guitar Hero: AEROSMITH, not mentioning any songs from the band on the cover of the damn box doesn’t exactly build confidence.*

*Yes, I know “Dream On” has been confirmed, and it’s a good bet that “Movin’ Out”, “Make It” and “Mama Kin” are going to be included, but still.

    UPDATO MAGNIFICO!

    1. Yeah, I’m not happy about this. I don’t want to pay for that crap. I want to pay for Aerosmith…

    2. I think the game is going to feature a bunch of bands that Aerosmith picked out or some crap (I need to find a source but I swear I remember reading it somewhere).

    3. Whoa… hold your horses… :)

Admittedly, the new Guitar Hero: Aerosmith does feature other bands music, but only because from a marketing perspective - and no offense to Aerosmith here, but people do want variety, even in an “Aerosmith” game.

The format of the game will have an ‘opening band’ that plays two songs, followed by Aerosmith who will play another 2 songs, plus an encore.

      There have also been a lot more songs announced than you have mentioned. The “Aerosmith” songs that are currently known to be in the game are;

      -Dream On
      -Mama Kin
      -Make It
      -Movin Out
      -Walk This Way
      -Sweet Emotion
      -Draw The Line
      -Uncle Salty
      -No Surprize
      -Kings and Queens

The game will also include tracks from bands that Aerosmith has either played with or that have been a source of inspiration to their music… but that seems to be a point of contention for you. But it shouldn’t be if you’re an Aerosmith fan. Their career was all but over until another band remade ‘Walk This Way’…

    6. These are only the tracks off of their first five albums, considering that the game follows the band through their entire career the greatest hits tracks you’ve mentioned would not come in till the 11th 12th and 13th albums. To anyone who has heard any of their early albums, this initial listing would send you spinning over what gems their going to pull from their remaining material. Which will include the tracks that wouldn’t be worth an article. Take a look at the screen shots notice the recreation of their Nine Lives album cover, more tracks are coming. and anyone dissapointed in the Kinks being on the list, shouldn’t buy the game.
