“Deadliest Catch” Video Game Announced. For Serious.

Um… I don’t know what to make of this, so I’ll just say it: There’s going to be a “Deadliest Catch” video game.

If you don’t know what “Deadliest Catch” is, I’ll do my best to summarize the show for you: It’s a television program that airs on Discovery Channel in the US, which chronicles the events aboard fishing boats during the Alaskan king crap fishing season.

I, uh… I’m not sure what to say. I would normally rip this game idea into a new ass, but the Captain, Sig Hansen of the Northwestern, seems like a really nice guy. Sure, I wouldn’t in a hundred million years buy this game (which has sealed my fate and will now be forced to review it, I’m sure), but I guess if you just have to live out your fishing fantasies in a video game, and haven’t played Bass Fishing, Pro Bass Fishing, Championship Bass, Bassmasers Classic Tournament, Field & Stream Trophy Bass, Reel Fishing, Rapala Pro Fishing, In-Fisherman Freshwater Trophies, Sierra Sports Trophy Rivers, Virtual Deep Sea Fishing, Zebco Pro Fishing, or the fishing minigames in The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker or Fable, this may be right up your alley.

  1. Hahaha, wtf. I actually used to watch the hell out of this show. All I know is the game better include deaths.

  2. Psh. Deadliest Catch is bad ass. It like the Oregon Trail, but on water, and with boats instead of wagons. You cannot be part of my train, James, if you’re going to make fun of DC.
