t3h w31rd: Week of April 27th, 2008
Ugh, it’s been a hell of a week here. First the RSS dies, and comes back, and dies again, and comes back again, and dies again before finally coming back again. Then the website craps out time and again over a span of two days, which we’ve also fixed. Oh, and there was some behind-the-scenes drama that, without going into detail, had good ol’ JW seeing red for most of the week. However, that week is dead and gone, and a new one begins — so let’s get right to it.
ATTN Google: You’re Doing It Wrong
Before we get started, I want to have you all take a quick test. Real quick, look at this picture of Google employees rocking out to Guitar Hero in their off time:

Anybody want to take a shot at what’s wrong with this image? No? Well, I’ll give you a until the end of this feature to find it, but I’ll just say this — I’ve played Dashboard on Expert and it is a bitch.
Gamer Bling vol. I
We have two pieces of game-centric jewlery for you. First, Collette Bennett (seriously, she’s my #3 nerd crush) over at D’toid wants to get the word out on some cufflinks for the Nintendo Wii. If you’re the ultimate Wii fanboy who tends to go out on the town and has about $150 to throw into a rubber fire, you may be interested. Hell, I’m probably as anti-Wii as it gets and I still want a pair of these. But alas, my money must go towards games — both for myself and for you vultures — so these are well out of my price range.
Our second, and unfortunately for this week or final piece for Gamer Bling (I die a little inside every time I use that word) is a Super Mario necklace. While the chain itself is made of gold (and is, in fact, a rope), the image of Super Mario himself is pure, 100% LEGO. I’d rock that shit.

No, you’re not seeing shit and yes, it works — a French modder has crammed a Nintendo Famicom into a single Nintendo Entertainment System cartridge. Talk about east meeting west, eh? It comes with vull AV outs, a power switch (and reset button) and two controller ports at the bottom of the cartridge.
Boy, how I would love to own a version of this that was compatible with North American cartridges. Or better yet, one to give away… but we’ll come back to that.
Grand Theft Auto IV Activity Book
With Grand Theft Auto IV on the horizon, odds are you’re going to have to find a way to keep your kids entertained while you rape and pilliage Liberty City like the modern day, Russian-speaking Viking you are! Well, if nothing else, put them down at the kitchen table and let them play with this:

Color pictures, navigate mazes, difference pictures, the book has it all and much, much more to make sure that little snot-nosed shit stays out of your business for the next few hours.
Non-Gaming w31rd:
Jessica Rabbit: Untooned

This “Untooned” guy, who’s previously done Mario and Homer Simpson, is simply sick — a good sick, not a creepy uncle sick. His latest project, Jessica Rabbit, is no exception. Without saying too much, I’ll simply say that I love this picture, I love this series, and I love how she looks a little bit like Jennifer Tilly.
And finally…
Angry Video Game Nerd: The Wizard and Super Mario Bros. 3
If you haven’t seen it yet, watch. If you’ve seen it already, watch again. Not only is it one of the better best videos of his yet, but there is a very, very big hint towards our next contest hidden within.
If Binge Gamer ever grows to the point where we can fund a video game tournament, we will call it “Video Armageddon”. Of this I swear.
See y’all next week.
