Rumor: Soulcalibur IV requires 8.5GB on PS3, HDD on 360

Memo to Namco: We’re running out of room! If rumors are to be believed, then the PlayStation 3 version of Soulcalibur IV will require up to 8.5GB of your hard drive: 6.5GB for the game’s install, and another 2GB for save data.
Wow.
Somebody needs to get on the horn with these developers and tell them that we PS3 owners just don’t have enough space for giant ass installs that have grown to be massive — especially in the past few months.
But wait, it gets better. If you thought you were going to be slick and get around the install by buying the game for the Xbox 360, you’re not completely in the clear: According to the official Xbox website, SCIV will require a hard drive. While that sounds pretty weak on the surface, let’s think a moment… who the hell doesn’t have a hard drive by now? It’s 2008. You’ve had two years to pick yourself up a 20GB hard drive. Get with the times.
Anyways, we’ve asked Namco Bandai to clarify these numbers, and should we hear anything outside of the standard “No Comment”, we’ll let you know.
