Resident Evil 4 Classic Edition Boxarts in HIGH RES

Yesterday we passed along news that following the rumors of Resident Evil 4 coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360, Capcom’s Christian Svensson told everyone on Capcom’s official forums that there were no plans for RE4 on PS3 or 360 “at this time”.

Many Resident Evil fans were saddened by this development, but Resident Evil fansite The Horror is Alive (God, I’d love that gig) has rolled out some more nifty information and even a couple of high-res images of both the Xbox 360 and PS3 cover art. Seriously, have a look:

More info on the game in question: Much like Ada has her own side-story for the PS2 and PC version of RE4, the PS3 and 360 versions will have a HUNK side-story, because just when you think you’ve got the RE plot nice and tidy, Capcom has to come along and kick sand all over it.

Bastards.

Regardless, you can bet your sweet hide that we’ll be keeping an eye on this ongoing development — oh, and to let you know if this makes it past April 1, of course. *wink wink, nudge nudge*

Ultimately however, the rumor was dismissed by Capcom simply because neither Microsoft or Sony would approve a last gen game on their current machines. However, the rumor persisted, and the next day THIA posted two images of what looked to be the two boxarts (which you can view here). […]
