Prince of Persia coming to Xbox 360, PS3

Ladies and Gents, if you love Prince of Persia, rejoice — Ubisoft has just announced that they are working on a new PoP for the PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS that we can expect to see sometime around the holidays.

The game is being developed at Ubisoft Montreal (PoP: The Sands of Time, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell) and promises to “rejuvenate the action-adventure genre in addition to introducing a brand-new illustrative art style”. Hopefully that will turn us away from emo Prince from the last couple of outings.

No title was announced for the next PoP, though franchise father Jordan Mechner recently trademarked “Prince of Persia Prodigy”. A hint, perhaps? We’ll all know soon enough.
