No Teen, Mature-Rated Games in XBL Game Room

As if Microsoft hadn’t neutered their Game Room enough as it is, now comes the news that the only games to be featured on this service will be games that have earned either E or E10+ ratings.

No T for Teen. No M for Mature.

Games available for download within ‘Game Room’ will carry either E or E10+ ratings. We currently have no plans to feature titles of those [T/M] ratings.

On the face of it this makes sense as many of the arcade classics on Xbox LIVE are games like Galaga and Pac-Man. But it does disqualify some al;-time classics, such as…

  • Marvel vs. Capcom 2
  • Street Fighter II
  • King of Fighters ‘98
  • Golden Axe
  • Fatal Fury
  • Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3

…huh. Guess it’s not as bad as it sounds. Certainly not as bad as having to make us pay for a game twice to be able to use it in this damned Game Room.
