Last week, Dr. Laura Padilla-Walker from BYU decided that video games were evil. Completely evil. No redeeming qualities. And she said just that – that a study she oversaw found that everything associated with video games was negative.
After getting attention for her comments, though, she’s changing her tune a bit.
“However, in our study, we did find that video game use was related to only negative behaviors for students this age. Does that mean this applies to all gamers? No. Does that mean video game use causes these outcomes? Certainly not.”
She even said that it was “possible” that video games could be positive in some situations. Well, that’s very generous of you to say, Professor. Thanks for telling us something we wouldn’t have otherwise known. Some gamers are bad. Some gamers are good.
Awesome study.
