Text-Based ‘Zork’ Returning as Browser-Based MMO

zork

Zork, the classic text-based RPG that introduced hundreds of eventual developers to video games, is being revived as Legends of Zork, a browser-based MMO.

You will be cast as an unemployed salesman, traveling the lands as you search for treasure and adventure in the Great Underground Empire.

Jolt Online, the company that is bringing the classic to a browser near you, intends to make the game available for the casual MMO fan and is designed to provide gamers with “a casual MMO game they can play on their laptop, desktop or Apple iPhone”… in case you want to play while at work, school or in labor.

It may be a bit before we get to play Legends of Zork, but in the meantime you’re all welcome to join me in Nation States 2, where you can build your own superpower and wage war on anyone you damn well please.
