UPDATE: $4.99 on PS3, not $3.99.

In other, slightly less awesome news, yesterday it was rumored that Resident Evil 5 would have several online game modes. Today, we can scratch the word “rumor” off that story. Capcom has confirmed via press release that that an online versus mode, called “Versus” (how ver clever) will be released as downloadable content for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The download will allow up to four players to go to war against each other on one of two different game types: “Slayer’s Rule” and “Survivor’s Rule”. What’s the difference? “Slayer” has you killing Majinis while “Survivor” has you killing each other.

The content will be available for download “a few weeks” after the game’s March 13th release and will retail for 400 MSPoints or $3.99 $4.99, depending on which console you’re playing on.
