Take a good look at the Resident Evil 5 boxart up there. The one on the left is the official Capcom RE5 boxart released a few weeks back. The one on the right is a piece of fanart posted on VGBoxArt back in June.
They look familiar, don’t they?
This peculiar similarity could be a few things. Personally, I’m willing to write it off as merely a coincidence, but in this day and age you can never be too sure.
Oh well. At least there weren’t any watermarks this time.

Considering that the fanart used graphics from Capcom to create their boxart, not it’s not surprising.
The fanart looks better, if you ask me.
The fan art looked great. The official one still great and nice having the outline of Africa in the background.
I would rather have the fanart version standing in my bookcase…!
Well Capcom are using the copyright to take advantage.
Same thing they did to Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix, half of the images were traced from Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the GBA.
The box art sucks anyway, looks too much like RE4 to me:/
I really don’t think this is worth getting “riled up” about. I mean.. we should be more worried about the final product (the actual game) am I right? Anyways, I hope this game has a variety of guns. Can’t wait for the final copy!
