According to 1up.com, Activision has sent in an application to the United States Patent and Trademark Office for “Toys, handheld games with liquid crystal displays, musical toys; action figures and accessories therefor; arcade games; coin-operated videogames; electric action toys; handheld unit for playing electronic videogames; electronic toy drums.”

This doesn’t necessarily mean that we will see a Drum Hero, but it’s a very strong indication.  And to this, I must say: Activision, you really need to calm the fuck down.

Guitar Hero?  Okay, the game was a huge success, and they’re great games.  DJ Hero? All right, cool concept (too bad the tracklist sucks).  Band Hero? Um, can’t you already play all the instruments now in Guitar Hero?  Potentially Drum Hero? Give me a break.

It will sell.  No doubt it will sell, but really, Activision?  Really?
