Yesterday Michael Pachter (who is better than you) implied that for Sony to finally see widespread success with their PlayStation 3 that they will have to drop the price by $100. Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has sounded off on the idea and has a very simple message for Sony:
Go ahead and drop your price by $100. We’ll still kick your ass!
…okay, he was a little more civil, but he still said Microsoft would win anyways.
We’re not too worried about it. Our belief is we will be able to continue to deliver more entertainment … at a better value even if they dropped (the price) by $100. We would still maintain a price advantage.
Greenberg went on to say that he believes that Sony’s troubles are only exasserbated by the fact that the economy went face-first into the dirt. Which, for a company that just posted a $1B loss for the last year, isn’t much of a stretch to assume.
