Considering that I’m the lone sports fan here at Binge Gamer, I feel it my duty to inject a certain amount of sporting flavor to the website. Translation: If PR from Sony, 2K Sports or EA Sports is reading this, contact me directly regarding sports game news.

I had wanted to start doing this at the beginning of the month. Sadly, because the website was dead for most of September, I was unable to pick the first three weeks of NFL games (however, Madden NFL 10 DID get the Lions/Redskins game right — even the score). Now that the site is back up and running at full power, it’s time to put guy against game as I go head-to-head against Madden NFL 10 each and every week for the remainder of the NFL Regular Season. This experiment will work to see whether or not Madden NFL 10 is, in fact, the ultimate football sim.

So how will this work? Well, every Friday (or Thursday afternoon, should there be a Thursday Night Game) I will post both my picks and the results of the games that are calculated by Madden NFL 10. At the end of the regular season we will tally up the total record of both myself and Madden and see who wins. I will ensure that all trades done IRL are done in-game, and I will bench/IR players who are out.

Madden, while adorable, is wrong in so many ways this week. Buffalo is not as bad as their record and Miami is throwing a second-year QB (who has only had twelve NFL pass attempts) into the fire. Another game of contention is the Chargers going into Pittsburgh and winning — something that San Diego has never done.
