Shortly after DJ Hero was announced, it was revealed that both Jay-Z and Eminem (spelled corporately as ‘EMINEM’ as if you’re shouting it from the damn rooftops) would both be involved in the game with a select list of their best songs that will be included in the “Renegade Edition” of DJ Hero. Today Activision released the full track list for both the Jay-Z and Eminem compolation discs (album art by Shepard Fairey seen left), with the later including a previously-unreleased single that can only be heard on DJ Hero… unless you have Sirius XM Satellite Radio, in which case you can also hear it on the “All Out Show” on station SHADE45 (he has his own damn radio station?!) on October 16, 2009.
First up is the Jay-Z Disc, which includes songs from each of his eleven studio albums (or so says the press release). In fact, this is the first “Best of” compolition that Jay-Z has ever done. Take a look at the track list for yourself.
- Ain’t No Nigga (featuring Foxy Brown)
- Where I’m From
- Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)
- Jigga My Nigga (Ruff Ryders feat. Jay-Z)
- I Just Wanna Love U (Give it 2 Me)
- Izzo (H.O.V.A.)
- 03′ Bonnie & Clyde (featuring Beyonce Knowles)
- Dirt Off Your Shoulder
- Show Me What You Got
- Roc Boys (And the Winner Is)…
- Brooklyn Go Hard (featuring Santigold)
- D.O.A. (Death of Auto Tune)
The Eminem disc has a fair mixture of well-known songs that most of you will know, and some more obscure tracks that only die hard fans will know. Observe:
- Taking My Ball
- Say Goodbye to Hollywood
- Soldier
- The Re-Up (featuring 50 Cent)
- Rabbit Run
- Get U Mad
- Bad Guys Always Die (with Dr. Dre)
- Public Enemy No. 1
- Say What You Say (featuring Dr. Dre)
- Lose Yourself
- Hey Lady (with Obie Trice)
- One Shot 2 Shot (featuring D-12)
Again, if you like Eminem you’ll enjoy the songs. If you don’t, you’ll be scratching your head over the majority of the tracks. This shouldn’t be a problem, however, as most of you who are interested in DJ Hero are probably fans of at least one of these guys… unless you’re excited to take a turntable to “Ace of Spades”, in which case you’re a sad little being.
DJ Hero, including DJ Hero: Renegade Edition, will be released on October 27th.
