E3 2009: Don’t you Dare Tweet at Me on Live

reviewI love being connected as much as the next person, but today’s E3 announcement that Xbox Live is getting Twitter and Facebook integration does not make me happy. There are few things I want less than tweets while I’m trying to get my game on.

And that’s not all. Live is also getting music-streaming service Last.FM and, for you Brits out there, U.K.-based Sky TV, which will let you watch TV and movies through live, something US users can already do. Woo-freaking-hoo.

I really don’t want Live to turn into some kind of mini-Internet. There’s something to be said for connecting to your Facebook and Twitter friends on Live so you can play games together, but all in all, I would have rather seen the money Microsoft undoubtedly spent on these deals going toward better options.

So weigh in with your opinion as a comment – social networking through Live, thumbs up or down?
