Not too long ago, I received one free copy of Wolfenstein on the Xbox 360 from Activision for review. The game, was awesome. I play Call of Duty 4 almost daily when I can (my 360 is red ringed, so I only play when my little brother’s friend lets me borrow their system). Activision: Plain and simple, you guys rule, no matter what other people say.
IGN: Oh man, I remember you guys from back in the day. Hell, I even remember that one shot print magazine you guys did (back in the IGN64 days). Now I know people knock you for some little things, but overall, you made a great presence for video games on the web.
FTC: I hated you at first, then I realized you weren’t the people that kept fucking over Howard Stern, it was the FCC! My bad. I just Wiki’d you, and you guys seem all right.
Love,
Mikey
P.S. You guys should watch out, people are talking crap about you. There is that whole thing of that nutso Shawn Elliott Twattering© about some Activision/IGN conspiracy! Surely a website called the “Music Hub” would contain information about all music games, not just the “Hero” games. I poked around and seen the Harmonix Wiki page, I have no doubts it doesn’t mention Rock Band as part of Harmonix’s track record because no one has edited the page yet to include that information.
P.S.S. FTC: Don’t listen to anyone that tells you that your new upcoming policy regarding “bloggers” making freebies known to the public applies to this IGN and Activision non-situation at all. I mean, c’mon, IGN isn’t a blog… which surprisingly, there seems to be no clear cut answer on what defines a site as a blog. But I’ll tell you just going by the simple definition of a specialized site that allows an individual or group of individuals to share a running log of a chosen subject, such as video games, well… IGN is just not part of that (I’m not sure why not yet, but.. come on, it’s IGN, give ‘em a pass).
