By now you probably know that the Xbox 360 and PC versions of Fallout 3 will be getting downloadable content that will eventually allow players to continue exploring the Capital Wasteland well after beating the main storyline.
If you’re a PS3 owner of Fallout 3, however, Bethesda has officially given you a big ol’ middle finger.
Speaking with MTV Multiplayer, Bethesda producer Todd Howard confirmed what many PS3 owners had feared: The PS3 version of Fallout 3 will not allow you to play after completing the story.
We got in touch with “Fallout 3″ executive producer Todd Howard for an answer. So, is post-ending adventuring something Bethesda is considering for PS3 players?
“Not at this time, no,†said Howard.
Now while many will look at this as simply Microsoft paying for DLC, here’s another way to look at it is this: After the DLC is released on the PC and 360, PS3 owners will essentially have an inferior, incomplete version of the game. I’d go so far as to say that the PS3 version of the game is broken.
You see, if you want to have an agreement that allows you to add content to the game, fine. As a PS3 owner I can live without being able to explore Pittsburgh or Anchorage (but I also own the PC version so I’m grabbin’ my show shoes). But when you’re messing with the core of what makes your game and improving it for one platform while essentially ignoring another, all you’re doing is punishing the gamer for their choice in console purchase.
I love you guys over at Bethesda, but this is a dick move.

Wlecome to the whole point in competeing in the games market. Enjoy your stay.
