I update my Falcon with this NXE thing, and suddenly my xbox got the first RROD after 5 minutes playing. I already try with other games but got no luck. This is my 2nd xbox360. It's surely a hardware failure thing, since I think MS selling these hardware failure thing to their customers. Not listed in the package list but it's on the package. I don't know maybe the NXE push the hardware capability, so it got overheat too often. Probably MS testing the NXE only on the Jasper version to push their hardware limit. But it will toast the older version. That's a good thing for MS so the customers will buy the Jasper, but not a good thing for their customers.

Bought xbox in 2006 with no problems. I don't play online and never hooked it up to the internet until April 2009. NoW I see why I never wanted to play online, My XBOX is infected with what ever the problem is when you update the operating system. I guess the Avatar that I created was a Gremlin because it started acting up as soon as I saved it. Microsoft is acting like any big corporation and ignoring the customer. WE SHOULD SHOW THEM THAT WE ARE THE TRUE POWER BEHIND THE COMPANY AND BOYCOTT MICROSOFT PRODUCTS. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER XBOX 360 UNLESS THEY DO A 360 AND TREAT CUSTOMERS WITH RESPECT.

I`m on my 2nd $hitBoX. 1st one (launch 360), died last year right after the NXE update, console restarted with RRoD no picture no sound, Adios!
Before that update it worked perfect, never had any problems!
Last week decidet to buy a new 360 (Jasper) but downloaded the update to USB and then install it.
Works OK for now. (Well it must, the 1st 360 from 2005 lived for 3 years!!! )
But in Display settings when I set to 1080p, the red filer line is visible on my left side of the screen, with 1080i no problems...
Yes I own Full HD TV.
BTW the drive is still soooo loud, the only good thing about NXE is that you can install games to HDD.
What`s next? My PS3 will die too?!
LCD will suffer from more backlight clouding?, and my reciever will be hit by a thunder :-P
From all those update`s, tech problems etc., I just became so pesimistic about everything :-(

How about the NXE just looks goddamn gay and juvenile? My jackoff of a friend put his internet updated NXE hard drive into my Xbox, and like a sexually transmitted virus, NXE infected my system and I hate SO much, and now there's no way to go back. What the hell was Microsoft thinking?? They had a perfectly good interface going with the original, and now they ruined it. Sometimes I wonder if the developers at Microsoft have any common sense at all.

94 percent of red light errors are from over heating, if you have no warranty, just look up how to open your xbox, take off the two x-clamps, maybe apply more thermal paste between the gpu and cpu and place two m5 washers on the bottom of each clip that the x-clamps attach to, this will tighten the bond between the chips and heatsinks, that fixes your heat problem, there is also a penny trick you can do to remove heat from the other 4 processors, dont put the whole thing back together though, remove the fan 3 pin power connector, turn it on with the dvd drive hooked up and let the cpu overheat, kinda like the towel trick but much safer, after two red lights appear, turn off, let sit and restart and good as new, should not get the rrod again.

Yeah I got the RRod about 3 days after NXE update. still waiting on Box to get back. Oh and anyone saying that these are just Sony Fanboys stirring something up, pull your head out of your @ss. If you have that much blind ideaology to MS, that you defend them at every turn, you're one sorry SOB.

My 360 worked perfectly. I downloaded the NXE, and now it has significant difficulty reading discs. The discs worked fine before the update, and still work fine on other 360s.
I emailed MS about it, and the entire response was telling me the different things that could be wrong with the discs, even though I said they worked on other 360s.
Goddam it MS and your POS update, I just wanted to play some f-ing Rockband!

Just to add in my $0.02
I had the Falcon Board with HDMI, just received reborn from MS with only 26 days usage. Worked fine with no lockups or anything. I installed the NXE update and within the next hour I was playing Bioshock and the screen showed black lines down the screen. Rebooted and got E74. Did all the standard troubleshooitng and still just one red light.
This Sux!!!

Right after connecting to Xbox live for the first time and upgrading the console, the display was very fuzzy. Re restarted the unit and were rewarded with the red ring of death and E 74. Luckily we have a Wii too so the kids have something to play. Nice time to not have the 360 through Christmas. I think I will return the 360 games and get Wii games.

I have also been unfortunate. I fixed my Xbox 360, by use of replacing the X-Clamps, and then I updated to NXE and received RROD once again. Much to my despair the Xbox could no longer be revived. I would advise all users who are contemplating updating NXE to wait until a reported bug fix. By the way I have modified my Xbox with iXtreme 1.2 revC, if that is of any relevance.
