According to Enterbrain, Japanese sales of both the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3 will peak in 2008 before trailing off in 2009 and 2010.
While Enterbrain, who publishes Famitsu, believes that console sales could top the 700 billion yen mark (710.4 billion), they also believe that this number will drop off to just over 671 billion yen by 2010, due to drastic drops in Wii and PS3 demand. Apparently Enterbrain believes that by 2010 we’ll all own Wiis, or will give up our search for one.
The forecast is not all doom and gloom from Enterbrain, however. They expect the online gaming market to grow to 320.5 billion yen by 2010. Blame WoW, people. Blame WoW.
