Volition Already Working on ‘Saints Row 3′
Associate Producer at Volition, Dan Sutton, has revealed in an interview with play.tm that the studio is currently putting the finishing touches on Saints Row 2, and that the developer is already working on Saints Row 3:
…in SR2 we tie-up a lot of loose ends. I think we tie it up deliberately. We’ve already started work on Saints Row 3, and we have a new direction we want to go in with that which we of course can’t talk about.
The original Saints Row was a welcome breath of fresh air in a market dominated by the fine folks over at Rockstar Games, and I have high hopes for Saints Row 2. However, even at this early date I think it’s a little premature to start work on part 3.
Then again, if SR2 sells well, they’ll look like geniuses and will be able to capitalize, so what do I know?

I just wanted to say that if they are making a Saints Row 3 game in 2010 there are some things they should improve on or add to the game series of it.
1: The City of Stilwater needs to be at least be a little bigger like GTA: 4 because the city is very small also some of my friends have beaten the game and it gets kind of boring just killing people all the time and robbing stores, it is just lame after awhile.
2: This second suggestion I haven’t put a lot into thought but on SR3 you should at least make 4 new cities (THAT ARE BIG) that the player can enter throughout the game. Each of the 4 cities should have 3 gangs within the cities. The cities maybe should have 3 islands on each city.
3: The third suggestion has to do with the city it should have some subways underneath the city that travel pretty far and through each of the cities. Maybe in the subways it should have a hideout in it.
4: This is the last suggestion I think while you are playing SR3 you should create your own hideout wherever the player pleases like abondoned buildings underground areas and subway areas, and more that I do not know. I will message back if I have any other ideas.
I like what darren said, we should be able to create our hide out any were. this gives you more opptions.
you could have garages, for your cars, rather then the key to access your cars.
Also i think you should beable to have co-op with the same consol, and shoud beable to contact Peirce and Shawndi when ever you want. This game should come out be for grand theft auto 5

They actually have done that already, in Saints Row (Original), they wanted to try something new in SR2.
and for the build a crib anywhere thing, thats a GREAT idea, but i think ya should be able to go in and out of ANY BUILDING, and if that actually happens than you would REALLY BE OWNING THE CITY OF STILWATER
Agreed, Co-op would be fun online if i had it, however u should be able to add a created character from another saved game, Doing that would Sell this game out Quick! and if you do that have a shorter revive response i’d say narrow it down to 15 or 10 seconds
i think in saints row 3 you should have a better online play and maybe let us know when were going to rank up..and already have good clothes on the online game..Saints row 2 didnt have good clothes already..

Must agree with you =], Money was pretty easy to make, they should make it like on San Andreas were you wouldnt make money in some missions. I think we should be able to rob banks or stores as well.. the hold ups in #2 well.. i really didnt even get to do my 1st yet.. they just fell to the ground and triggerd the alarm, you should bring back the breaking into stores at night or hold ups if u got rid of them in #2
o yea one last thing have ur own gang color and own gang online play like on SR1…and have more ppl play online with u as far as free roam or story mode sum how..along with w/e color you want on your story mode..and if you want your gang to be one color instead of have like one asian and 3 blks..make it a choice to c if we want just one raice n it..and plz stop with rip n stop signs outta the ground and all dat fake stuff..and the diversions sum of them is unreal..your n a shit truck sraying shit everywher come on lol..
i agree about customizing gang colors, but i think that keeping a mixed race gang is crucial to the game in the fact that it keeps the comedy interesting and diverse. Also you should know that the point of the game is to be humorous not realistic so it makes no sense to remove those diversions and activities, and not being able to drive over street signs, and other in game objects is ridiculous, think about it how much would it suck to get stopped dead in your tracks every time you took a sharp turn, or moved of the road to avoid oncoming traffic!
I disagree somewhat, having every color in a gang made it fun and led up to un expected gang memebers like a black Brotherhood or a White Samdi, I think more gangs should have motor cycles with the use of all melee wepons (not just kantanas) like Baseball bats, Chainsaws, Machetties, knifes ect.. If anything Add More gangs, new lands (cause saints rows not really big enough for just 3 gangs, New fighting styles, Hella more missions, And keep the riping signs off the ground on.. P.S get some new voices on try like a normal white one like Stings (wrestler of tna) His voice is really awsome expecially for his age, also add a tool in it so u can make the voice Deeper, Higher or even a lisp XD..
I also think there should be a hidden island filled with zombies (like on the end of Dawn of the Dead) Instead of just having it as a video game.. Plus more customizing options.. expecially for the gang hangout.. The high style didnt really fit my style in my opinion. You shoulld also add more accessable places like your old cribs from saints row 1.. 1 more thing to add would be lottery tickets (sometimes making money is a hard thing to do)
Something you do need to get rid of is all those girl clothing shops.. Theres barley enough for us guys =[, Plus some Niority decrease.. games are more fun sometimes when a gangs pissed off at you, plus i finished all the gangs then unlocked that stuff, it was useless.. Also the Ultor mall was kinda hidden, i think it should be marked on the map.

a very important thing is to get rid of that respect bar it just takes up to much time
in sr3 you should be able to create your own vehicles e.g. bikes cars planes so on and so on. u shud also make your own gang hide out and edit all the clothes your crew wear. also you should be able to gather sum of your gangstaz up, get transport and go and take over gang buildings and other buildings. the last thing i will put forward is that your hideout should be on an island you choose the size and area and u put anything you want on it
i think you should be able to create your gang style based on area for example i like the body gaurds bt it looks dumb with swat lookin guys walkin around the streets so i would jus want them at my crib…also the pimp one is tight but i mean a gang full of pimps isnt really a gang

First of all, Saint’s Row open sandbox gameplay foundation always has, is, and will be compared to Grand Theft Auto’s capitalization of the genre and although Volition has thought of this, the city is in desperate need of a big expansion or revamp. Personally, since the game is called Saint’s Row and not Stilwater, I see no reason for keeping the Saints in Stilwater and upgrading them to a much larger and more detailed locale.
Then, the clothing customization in Saint’s Row 2 wasn’t bad but a lot more people would like the degree of customization of the character if there was more clothing that you could buy.
Lastly, downloadable content adding extended gameplay to the game would make this a competent contender for game of the year.
On the other hand, the guys [and girls] at Volition are on the proverbial ball with taking a game like Saint’s Row and revamping it into Saint’s Row 2 and I’m sure that Saint’s Row 3 will capitalize on the foundation that Saint’s Row 1 and 2 have set. Congratulations on your successes and on the success to come.

U can pimp out your crib…have complete custimization…everythng frm2 but more….when gangs lower down u come back as the saints but at times u go back as your new one!…..u can also download ure guy down 4rm 2..if udontwanna make a new 1..u can do this online and off..also u can customize him with the new features as well. Hey i like that idea. make a new person in another city and have new gangs in that city. the guy can make his own Saints set because he/she heard about 3rd Street and Stilwater over the news. near the end they should be able to fly over to Stilwater and meet your original character. after that Continue a series of different cities like “Saints Row 5″ and then like “Saints Row: Atlanta” or somethin like that. also make it so you can destroy any building and enter any building if you wanted to.

SR3 shuld be the best game ever made..SR2 was good but once ur finished it it does get quite borin and u do get sick of customizing cars and running people over. SR3 i reckon shud have other places wer u can travel. to like differnt cites via plane or boat instead of being concentrated on just one city. It shud also contain alot attention to detail such as the graphics but also those little things like playin poker, or playin somethin like minigolf for instance. shit liek that is wat keeps tha gamer amused. customization shud play a big part aswell.espically with clothes, cars, food, houses, gangs etc. it wuld be nice to see you place you hideout wer ever u want and do wat ever u want to it. they shud completely remove the respect bar as this is annoyin wen u want to play tha story but u hafta do annoyin activites. attention to detail is the key ingredient i think wen developing this game. if all works out then this game shud be one of the best games ever made. i also think developers shud listen to tha public so they get ideas and know waat gamers want in a game which will keep em entertained for hours or even years.

I loovveee saints row 1 and 2 but in 3 you deffiinnatelly need to add more gangs and a longer story. I beat the game wayy to fast. I don’t understand the whole people not liking purple though. The saints is purple! Also you should make it so you can do different emotes. Like dance, sit in chairs, talk, and so on. Another thing is when you buy a shop you should be able to like cashier there. It would be fun to rip off someone and when they get pissed pop a cap in their ass. SAINTS ROW FOREVER!

SAINTS ROW 3 PLEASE!!! Saints Row 2 is the most enjoyable game I have ever played (I LOVE being able to be female, so much more immersive, thank you to the game makers!) I have finished but still love just wandering around Stillwater. GO PURPLE, GO SAINTS!

The saints row 2 was a ok game. There are a few points to improve in. I’m not trying to copy Scarface but you do all these missions on drugs and you don’t do anything to sell it. They should make it so you have a warehouse where store the drugs and then go back take it out to sell. Next why did they put in planes if you never use them there’s no point. If your going to stick in boats and helicopters if you can’t get your gang to drive them and customize them. Another thing they really have to add more military grade weapons and they should add ranks to your gang members so the higher they’re rank is the better guns they have and more health. Next why can’t you set silencer’s in the game and upgrade them. Next the cool thing would you get to set the third street saints decal on you cars and clothes also get to buy all the clothes and stuff that your crew wears.
alot of people use planes but just in a way others find sick. also about the weapons why couldnt it be like SR1? lik wenever you went to your weapons cache in SR1 you could get as much ammo as you needed. but in SR2 you have to keep buying ammo and some reason different guns in the same class use the same ammo
I loved sr1 & 2 my only complaint is it should be longer(more gangs,more missions etc) I’m cool with the new city idea I mean stllwater is the ” motherland” for the saints but just like real gangs they can branch out and take over new cities start new saints chapters and war with even more gangs.. In saints 2 I loved the GPX the new weapons but the clothes could b better.. I would like 3 to be longer and more realistic.. Take over hoods establish a mission house and be able to recruit people off the street.. Also to customize the followers or have an enforcer that follows u everywhere u can costomize would b str8 to.. But overall I give saints 1&2 an A+
there should also be a seperate game mode where you could create your own gang, colors, recruit anybody you want like any pedestrians on the street, even other gang members somehow, create your own hideouts and everything. but since it is a different game mode entirely the saints dont exist in it but they do in the actual game. the other gangs that play in the game are in that game mode.

I’ll bet sr3 will most definately have something to do with ultor and ill bet tobius, mr wong (or whatever tht guys name was) dex, and benjamin king will all be in it (tobius is the guy who flys u around in the heli, u get him as a homie later on) imagine an entire city redone by ultor, that would be sick I love the new saints row district. And that multiple cities idea would be a PERFECT way to implement use into the planes, you could use em to fly to new cities. An idea for the story line could be; Ultor keeps growing and growing and they get some new executives and eventually push out all the saints and redo the entire stillwater thus forcing you to leave stillwater via plane, in this time you would go to another city to build up your gang to retake stillwater from ultor.PERHAPS YOU GO MEET UP WITH BENJAMIN KING IN THE CITY HE LEFT TO! And you fuse the vice kings with the saints in order to get that extra fire power to take back stillwater, now tht would be sick

You should have grapple weapons so you could shoot a harpoon-like blade onto an air vehicle with a rope attaching to you’re gun so its like you’re flying a kite only its taking you up with it

its Still Random Fan and Atlanta Saints. ive read all the comments and replied to some. Most concerns are longer story line more customization, more cities than one, random recruitment, change the color,more gangs and vehicles, online season mode, destruction,entering and rebuilding of ALL buildings and other things i cant remember. All of them i agree with EXCEPT change the gang color. Dont do tht because the name Saints and the purple symbolize certain things. look for another one of my comments because i dnt want to explain it again. other things i heard is being able to build your own buildings, starting another Saints chapter, i guess you can say, in another city, do a series like GTA meaning do numbers then do cities like Saints Row: Atlanta, be able to have children and girlfriends/boyfriends, which ever way you “swing”,ummmm…. also make it so the game doesnt freeze up. tht is so annoying when it does tht because uve gtta erase memory and restart everything. just keep ready the comments and youll see wat i missed
What I like to see in saints row 3 is more missions, bigger area to play around gta sa you had 4 citys so there an idea 4 gangs plus ultor were dex in owner know i like to see the mc own and custimize prices mansion….that place was great…also be able to call your homies for drinks or to just go out…and pick up hookers in the streets sex sells…man i would loved my mc had sex with shaunti she sleep with every other guy …more shops look at gta sa again that game was great because it had lot to offer

Like I said, SR3 is going to be much much much different 4rm SR1 AND SR2!!! I don’t think the story will set with new gang color, new person, or new city! If anything, they will continue the story 4rm where it left off in SR2! But the game will supply ton’s new thing’s + Upgrade’s and, when they say, takin a new direction…they could just mean it being focused on a new improved story line with twist after twist…>

More gangs, More weapons, and more vehicles will make my day. Choosing different gangs to join and the ability to get a job as a Police officer (aka.5-0, Po-Po, Pig, Cop, Officer, mo-fo) or work as at convienience store or something like that. A fully destructable environment would be kick ass as well. All in all, the game needs more variety and longer missions.

I Think you guys need to work more on the graphic because yea the game is realy good but gta4 beat u to dat with graphics and you should definitely put in alot of different styles of clothing for guys idk why most of the clothes are for girls when guys are the ones who play this game. another real important thing you guys should do is work more on customization options for your characters like the hair the game has alot of hair but most of them dont even look that good. I dont like the fact that just because you pik hispanic as your race that you have to sound mexican like theres also Dominican and puerto ricans those are the major hispanic cultures beside mexican. And if you add these things and wat everyone else said about 4 big cities n islands and options of where to put create a hideout then your sales will rack up even more then what you got from sr2.

I think for SR3 their should be an option for a pet.. like a dog(bulldog,pitbull.rottweiler,german shepherd) in the game and it could follow you around and attack people who try to hurt you and it should be able to join you in your car and missions and you should have atleast 2dogs max and maybe make them have puppies and sell them illeagaly or somthing, some actions would be cool to interact with your pet too and for it to interact with the gang members..i would deffinetly love to see some dogs in the game that help you and you can buy collars for them and customize it and stuff or just make up your own breed of dog.. 1.there HAS TO BE a modification place for the planes, boats and helicopters.
2.bigger area, more gangs. Possibly airport to different islands or whatever.
3.possibly online 4-player co-op.
4.wider range of activities.
5.online make-your-own-gang and recruiting other players, to beat other gangs.
6.possibly, create your own gang style, sign, clothes, colours. and take down the saints.
7.new vehicles, dunno what but something,drag racers???
8. something that annoyed me was the tanks??? im from england (and i dont know if thats what american tanks look like) but it needs the war tanks!

i think they should have were you can name and choose the color of the gangs that’s if they want to and make your own cars and bikes and they should have were every body can talk with flat rimed hats baggy jeans baggy tops and really good shoes that the gangsters were in America and you can sell drugs and make your own business with allot of more gangs and a lot of more missions activates and areas and have big business buildings for hide outs and your lutenists have there own hide out and you can walk into any building you like and more fighting moves voices and the normal gang members have there own houses were you can see them out side and face tattoos and neck tattoos and you can do a drive by on enemy gang members so thats what i think it should be like.

I think all the ideas are great. But keep the respect bar. It gives u time to have fun and beat the activities. And I love the dog idea thats great and fun, and it’ll be even better if you can chose what dog u want take it to groomers, basically everything your able to do in the real world. You should also be able to customize the gang characters and cars they drive I like the cars your able to choose, but to be able to customize the car woul be much better. If I hav any more ideas i’ll be sure to post them on this site.
they should hav cars from jus one time period. it got confusing them havin 64 Impalas and 2004 Camaros in SR2
i think that you should be able to have more than one friend during co-op. you have the ability to have three in-game homies, but i think that you should also should be able to have three online homies. also you should be able to customize you cars completly. i also heard that all the rival gangs will be teaming up. so far i heard that it will go like this

I think in sr3 it sould be more gangsta like in sr. And in the city it should like in Chicago and new york. And u choose your gangs. The missions should be harder and alot of missions.
i think their should be split screen offline, cover system like gta4 and if u have a knife you could go up to a cop or gangster and press the trigger and he automatically does a knife move like the game turok oh and better graphics.

Anyway….hopefully the clothes in SR3 will look good unlike they did in SR2, in SR2 it looks like the clothes are fucking painted on the character, at least in SR1 the clothes actually looked 3D.
I’m loyal to the purple but I hope that when you finish the game and beat all the other crews you can change your colour.
Hopefully you can buy clothes for your gang, and dress them up like you would to your own character just for the more customization.
I hope there is more rap/R&B and hiphop music in SR3 like there was in SR1, there wasn’t enough of it in SR2 and it just blows.
