Verbinski set to direct “BioShock”

Gamers and movie buffs, more or less, go hand-in-hand. With that said, Variety is reporting that Take-Two’s work of art BioShock is getting the big screen treatment, and that Uwe Boll is in no way attached. In fact, Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Carribean, The Ring) is attached to direct with Oscar-nominated screenwriter John Logan (The Aviator, Gladiator) set to pen the screenplay adaptation.

While I don’t think Verbinski needs to be defended, I can assure you that John Logan is a good screenwriter with some nerd cred. He was, after all, the man who penned “Star Trek: Nemesis” and… oh… um… well, Any Given Sunday was good, in any case.

If you’re still kind of iffy about Verbinski on BioShock, read this brief interview — it will put your fears to rest.
