Uwe Boll is Truly Fascinating

As the title says, Uwe Boll is fascinating to me. I’m not going to pretend to say that I am a fan of his films — in fact, if you go through the archives here I’m certain you’ll find more than one incident where I’ve called Uwe Boll the worst director of our generation. We’ve all seen where Uwe Boll is being an eccentric, over-the-top characterature that is insufferably annoying, and this is where the Uwe Boll paradox comes into play:

Uwe Boll is actually a nice guy who, for better or worse, genuinely loves making movies. This is something that has been said by many people who’ve encountered Boll in person: He’s a dick on camera, but practically a saint in person.

Case in point: His recent interview with LoadingReadyRun. During the interview, which starts at a Starbucks and finishes in a park, a rather toned-down Uwe Boll sits with Graham Stark and talks about his love for film making, the general notion of video game movies being considered second-class ideas by studios, and he finally explains his brief but memorable feud with Michael Bay. A great interview that may change how you think about Boll the man… because Lord knows nothing on this Earth will make anybody like his movies.

Oh, and he takes a pot shot at Tara Reid. But really… who can blame him?
