LEGO Star Wars was awesome. LEGO Indian Jones is on my list of games to play. LEGO Batman? Sign me up. LEGO Halo? Ok, that was just a joke…but I was hopeful for a minute!
I’m seriously hoping, though, that Traveller’s Tales isn’t done. I think the Lego video game idea is ingenious (if you haven’t played the games, seriously, what are you waiting for?), and there is SO much they could do with the series. I’ve come up with my list of the Top Ten Lego games I* would like to see in the near future (in no particular order):
10. LEGO Gladiator
This movie is just begging to be lego-ized…and it looks like I’m not the only one who thinks so. For a LEGO game to be successful, it has to be action-packed, with the oppertunity to cut other lego characters to bits – Gladiator fits the bill. That, and there’s just something about a little LEGO Russel Crow that is…sweet.
9. LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean

LEGO Pirate of the Caribbean would be a great way to capitalize on the Johnny Depp/Orlando Bloom Success. This trilogy has enough action to make it a good fighting game, but also enough…well…weird-ness…to make it really different. Some of the more boring talking scenes would have to be cut out, but they did that with LEGO Star Wars and the game still made sense. Plus, I like how there would be a ton of cool LEGO places to fight – in the swamp, in town, on ships, on deserted islands. The possibilities are endless, and we all know that JD would totally get off on being made into a LEGO man. Plus, I mean…a huge LEGO pirate ship would be cool. You can see more cool LEGO pirate pictures here.
8. LEGO Aladdin
Criticize me if you will, but Aladdin is the best Disney movie out there…and think about it – the scenes lend themselves nicely to a video game. The final boss battle with a huge LEGO snake would be so cool. Oh, and for the record, that video has nothing to do with LEGOs…but you need to watch it (skip ahead to 0:55 if you don’t want to watch the whole thing).
7. LEGO Men in Black

Men in Black is one of those movies that you either love or you hate. There’s no middle ground. I feel like the movie itself is set up into “missions,” so converting the story into a LEGO video game would be easy. I also like the though of fighting a LEGO person, and instead of exploding into lego-bits, it changing into an alien that you have to fight again. They could get really creative with this one.
6. LEGO Shaun of the Dead

I have a real passion for zombie flicks, and one of my favorites is Shaun of the Dead. It would be an absolutely ridiculously fun LEGO game! You could play as any character from the group, fighting to rescue members and take them to the Winchester, like Shaun does in the movie. It also gives developers a chance to be funny…really, really funny. LEGO zombies? Yes. Please.
5. LEGO Matrix
I’m not a Keanu Reeves fan, but I absolutely loved the Martrix trilogy. I think that this movie would give developers the chance for some really awesome boss fights – the two ghosts on the highway scene, Agent Smith, the machines…and because there are a lot of cool machines in the movie, it would be neat to see them make the world out of LEGO pieces, and really fun to watch little LEGO men in Matrix-style slow-motion fighting.
4. LEGO James Bond

James Bond is a cultural icon, and like LEGO Star Wars, I think all of the Bond movies could be combined to make one larger LEGO game. Again, this game could be really cool lego-ized because of all the planes, boats, and…LEGO women…that you’d be able to collect as you play as 007.
3. LEGO Resident Evil

I. Love. Zombies. I won’t say that I’m the biggest Resident Evil fan in the world, but if they turned these games into a LEGO game, I’d buy it. Notice that I said they should make a LEGO game out of the games, not the movies. Anyway…as a LEGO zombie-killer, they could have neat features to allow you to play as any of the RE characters – and maybe, following the games, even an unlockable stage where you can play as Wesker. LEGO badass? Sweet.
2. LEGO Kill Bill

Kill Bill lends itself to the world of LEGO games well, simply because it is already divided up into chapters. It seems to me that this could be a more bloody, complex, adult version of the LEGO games, but maybe I’m looking too far into what a LEGO game really is…at the end of the day, LEGO Kill Bill, in my opinion, could bring the LEGO games to a new audience if done correctly or it could be a massive failure that makes a joke out of the movies.
1. LEGO X-Men

LEGO X-men is my number one pick for a LEGO game for two reasons. One, it would be pure win to see all the X-men as LEGO creations with their powers and two, out of all of the games I’ve named, I think this one is most likely. X-men has that commercial feel that makes it a hot seller with the general public no matter what the medium, and it appeals to the comic-book crowd who will want to see how closely the game follows the original story. So, I think causal gamers and core gamers alike would pick up this title. It’s bound to be a hit, Traveller’s Tales…make it already!
*Note: James and Mike might both want to crucify me for not putting Star Trek on this list, but at the end of the day, I’m not a Trekkie, so that doesn’t land on my list. Sorry; better luck next time I write a Top Ten…

That LEGO Bond is a dead ringer for Timothy Dalton.
And how about Lego Harry Potter?
Actually, that’s already been done: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego_Creator:_Harry_Potter
A pity it looks crappy, though. And good luck ever seeing a sequel: LEGO opted out of making any more Harry Potter sets.
The Duck Has Spoken.
The did make a sequal for the second book it sucked as bad as the first one, but after the failure of the first one (it sold for a while for little kids but then word got round and it flopped for everyone else) the second wasn’t widely published or ditributed. The only reson it came out at all was that it was almost finished when the first game came out.
Lego Harry Potter – coming next year: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/01/lego-harry-potter-magically-appearing-in-2010/
I want to see lego half-life.
I like the Logo Gladiator.
Bring it on man
all so the men in blak and james bond but they should get a better background.
I like the idea of LEGO Harry Potter and LEGO X-Men, but I’d be over the moon for a LEGO Doctor Who game!
i think that is the best idea ever! you could maybe have a few games of it…the first series, the second,
third, and fourth, and a tom baker lego game. i think if they did that they should use the same gameplay as
lego star wars 2 or indiana jones.that is one amazin idea!
They tried the harry pottetr twice they SUCKED ASS!!!!
they wern’t made by Travelers tales so if they made one it’d probobly be a lot better.

I LIKE X MEN, BUT WHAT HAPEN WITH LEGO SPIDER MAN
The vid you showed for the Matrix didn’t help your cause at all, shows how incapable the actual LEGO anatomy is at replicateing and preforming the intracate movemnts for thefights of the matrix, nice idea and i think they could do it if they down played and simplified a couple of the moves in hand to hand and played up the shooting and maybe even make it a little like a FPS.
Give me a P-90 and I’ll take over the world >=^)
Lego Spider-Man should have been on this list because there’s 3 movies based on it and the chacters would fit into lego. Same with Pirates of the Carrabean and the Matrix.
i like the idea of alladin and pirates of the carribean.
but maybe eagle eye? or 300 ( as long as it is better than the psp title ‘march to glory’)
instead of lego xmen, how about a marvel universe? it woulld have the xmen as well as many other characters.
HOW ABOUT A LEGO GOD OF WAR, WANTED OR DC UNIVERSE?!?
LEGO GRAND THEFT AUTO
lego lion king would be awsome
I think afew Tv shows would make Great Lego video Games!
Lego V(The TV Series) would be great or how about Lego Alien Nation!
Lego Buck Rogers or Lego A-Team! (Mr. T as a Lego!)
I think Lego X-Men would be killer, but with them being Marvel and Lego Batman being DC, I think that the most unlikely. Matrix would be sweet, Gladiator too cool to contemplate, and I’m sure we’d love Legos of the Caribbean and Leg007 as much as Star Wars and Indy. BTW, if anyone from Traveller’s Tales reads this: I will buy all of those titles, full price, the week they come out. My kids and I love these games that much. But please don’t leave us hanging after Complete Saga: we need Lego Clone Wars!
And Harry-haters (no insult intended): I’ve seen some trailers on the web for Lego Harry Potter, Books 1-4, due out in 2010.

The animation looks pretty funny, and my imagination is filling in the rest. Are these fake? I don’t know but I hope not. If there was a previous version of Lego HP, did it suck so bad that it’s not redeemable? I’d be into Lego Quidditch and doing crazy Lego s**t to that little beyotch Malfoy.
Hello!? LEGO TRANSFORMERS anyone?
Lego 007 Volumes 1-4, Lego Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Lego Star Trek, Lego Lethal Weapon Quadrilogy, Lego Die Hard Quadrilogy, Lego Alien Quadrilogy
