I can’t say I am completely sold on Brawl. I love it, but not enough to take the plunge and buy it (that is unless I find it for $30 new.. then I might bite). This lack of complete Nintendo fanboyism of the game doesn’t stop me from enjoying my rental copy though. Since it is a rental however, it means I have to unlock everything I possibly can as quickly as possible, which brings me to my first edition of something I will bring about randomly, “Too Much Information.” This is where I will bring to you in the quickest and easiest form to digest, everything you need to know on any given game that I have rented out at the moment.
My first find for some fun out of Brawl is with the Spectator mode. Hell, even as I type this I have the game running right next to me (see below picture: yes that is Notepad on my screen where I am typing this, I’m old school). Throwing this on while I am on my computer serves a dual purpose. See, I enjoy gambling; some would call it a problem. I have skipped out on trips with friends to Las Vegas because I would come home with no money.
However, using my few gold coins I have earned in other modes after accidentally stumbling across this find was a gold mine (get it.. gold mine…meh, whatever). Pro Tip: Sonic is almost always a sure bet!
When you are doing other things in your room, just leave the Spectator mode on. Games automatically start up after one finishes and every once in a while you will get to bet with a “Bonus Chance” that will give you extra money, stickers, and even CDs. Honestly I haven’t found a full guide saying what things you can possibly win, but I am sure that before I have to return the game I will have bet enough to find out.
Through the Spectator mode, another bonus has come about. Learning characters strengths and weaknesses. Yes, very obvious, but I might not have found out about this little phenomenon known as “Wavebouncing” that I have now found to be the talk of many Smash Bros related forums and threads. Below is the introduction to the technique video form. The long and the short of it is: use a GameCube controller. Change the C-stick to “Special” instead of “Smash,” charge at the enemy, then hold the C-stick back. It works best so far with Lucas, but you can use with other characters too. Here, watch the video to see it in action, it won’t win you a game automatically at all, but it is an interesting technique to add to your repertoire:
Finally, do you want a crapload of stickers and CDs really quick?! Of course you do. Make a custom level exactly like the video below:
1 – Make the level with the same setup as the video (conveyor belts the key)
2 – Have Sandbags as the only item to appear
3 – ???
4 – Profit!
Pro Tip: If you don’t have the conveyor belt as an option in your custom stages, it means you have to build more stages! Make five quick ones, then the piece will be unlocked)

P.S. Like the background of the header image? Well that was once a wallpaper that you can grab right below. Made by NeoGAF user Epicus.Furor, it has all the characters on it and is better than the current wallpaper you are using, grab it now:
