Take-Two Considering BioShock MMO… wait, what?!

biommo.jpg

BioShock is a perfect example of how games can be driven by story. Sure, the gameplay aspects of BioShock were sufficient enough, but it was the plot that kept you, me, and just about everyone else glued to their sofas, anxiously awaiting what happened next. It was perfect, and I believe a sequel will only tarnish the original.

However, a sequel has been confirmed, and if Take-Two’s top dog Strauss Zelnick is to be believed, we could very well see a BioShock MMO.

A BioShock MMO… way to completely destroy a franchise with just an idea, Strauss.

Okay, to be fair this is just an idea Take-Two is throwing around, along with a Civilization MMO. I think the Civilization MMORPG is much more likely, seeing as how Sid Meier has already stated that he’s working on a MMO project.

Look, BioShock is considered by many gamers to be a work of art. Don’t ruin it by trying to milk every last drop from the franchise… please?

Once again you jump to conclusions there, walker.

It says MMO/ONLINE GAMING. This could simply mean head to head game modes online, or even deathmatching (something people have been asking for, by the way).

This goes the same for civ, there is already limited multiplayer, it could be an untapped expansion for league or massively multiplayer (as in huge, multination games, not hack and slash mmo) games. In fact, there has been a pretty big call for better online capabilities in civ from fansites such as civfanatics or apolyton.

Do not instantly assume that because you see something you do not like (and i agree, a bioshock mmo would be f**king terrible), that it is the only-case scenario being presented.
