Capcom has revealed in a statement to investors (thus why this is available on the investor’s web page) some new info on the upcoming Street Fighter movie that will center around Chun Li, who we already know is being played by Kristen Kreuk. First and foremost, we now know definitively that Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li will be released in 2009. Normally this would disappoint me a bit, but since learning of Star Trek’s delay until May 2009, I have simply stopped caring.
We’ve also learned some new casting information for the movie: Michael Clarke Duncan of The Green Mile, Daredevil, and The Underground Comedy Movie (hey, we all make mistakes) fame will be playing Balrog. Chris Klein of American Pie and… um… American Pie 2 fame will portray Nash, and Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas will play Vega. However, the biggest news that Capcom let slip was the casting of Neal McDonough as General M. Bison.

…I don’t think so. Don’t get me wrong, Neal McDonough is a fantastic actor — and I’m not just saying that because he played Lt. Hawk in Star Trek: First Contact. However, Raul Julia… is Raul Julia.
…you just can’t top that!

[...] *NOTE: The video? Yeah, I posted it more or less because I could, and besides… no talk of any Street Fighter film, from now until 2525, should go without a Raul Julia reference. [...]
