Spore, Super Monkey Ball coming to iPhone

I have been holding off on the iPhone for as long as it’s been released. For starters I don’t have AT&T as a phone carrier, and if you do you’re a gullible sucker. Sure, I could always buy an iPhone and unlock it for T-Mobile, but I’m too lazy. However, after seeing this bit o’ news from Gizmodo (famous for their cute ninja remote prank) I may have to buy an iPhone.

You see, Apple has announced that the iPhone will be getting multitouch video games that will push the iPhone to the limit. What makes this news better is that Sega and The Evil Empire (or Electronic Arts) have already signed on to make games for the iPhone. Sega’s first offering is the ever-adorable Super Monkey Ball. EA’s first offering? Spore.

Not some watered-down version of Spore, either. All eighteen levels of Spore have been ported to the iPhone.

Should this give Nintendo and Sony concern that there may be a new player in the handheld market? If you’re Sony, maybe. Nintendo has no reason to worry, however. If things get tough, they can just rename the DS “Game Boy Touch”, and it’ll sell a bajillion units.

I dont think Sony or Nintendo should worry I will not go out and buy the iPhone no matter what game they have for it even though Apple may have a easier time selling it as a a hand held game system rather then a phone. Every person i know that has the iPhone cant get service to place or recieve a call or the phone freezes. Maybe if they could have hooked another cell phone provider for service I might think different.
