This week Our Lord Sess talks at length (all of two minutes) about the growing trend of games that have a somewhat lackluster ending when compared to the awesome, grandiose themes that the player usually goes through. In many films and in some older games you can feel everything building up and building up for an ultimate battle and then seeing the media deliver. In modern games, that seems to be lacking and Adam has noticed.
You know, he’s not wrong. There are more than a few games out there that have had these epic stories, only to ultimately disappoint. Fable and Halo 2 immediately come to mind. But then again one of my all-time favorites, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, has a perfect ending to its main quest. Which is awesome.
Because I’m a fanboy.
