This week in Sessler’s Soapbox, Lord Sessler talks about an issue that we have touched on here at Binge Gamer: Online bigotry. I first touched on this with a piece I had written for another website about groups of people who are ruining Halo 3. Allison later touched on some of the more sexist aspects of playing online (which prompted some of the most sexist remarks I’ve ever read — and one kickass Back to the Future reference). I think we’re all in agreement when we say that this is something that has to go away immediately and if you are one of these wannabe tough guys, trying to sound all bad in front of your clan mates… you’re part of the problem.
Sessler brings up a truly fantastic point: A lot of the people who use this kind of language are children. Most of them can’t be any more than ten or eleven years old, which brings up the the issue of why kids are playing M rated games to begin with — but that’s an entirely different discussion that I hope Adam touches on in the future.
