Are you one of the many PS3 owners who, unlike me, have not had the chance to use the new 2.40 Firmware yet? Well, if rumors are true then you’ll be able to start racking up your trophies by “midweek”.

According to a customer support technician, an error-free version of Firmware Update 2.40, cleverly titled Firmware 2.41, will be available by “midweek”. While this is a rumor for now, I have to think this is true if for no other reason than that tech support people tend to be friggen retarded and would probably let something like this slip.

Looking at a calendar, it seems that “midweek” will fall on a Wednesday or Thursday. Unless they’re using an Incan calendar, then “midweek” could be August for all we know.

If you aren’t aware of what’s been going on, allow me to recap you very quickly: Firmware 2.40 was bricking PS3s.
