When rumors began to swirl that Capcom would bring Dead Rising (also known as the single greatest idea ever) to a platform besides the Xbox 360, everyone assumed that we were going to see the game on the PlayStation 3. Of course, Capcom dashed our hopes and dreams with one word: Wii.
But now the PS3 rumors are alive and well once more thanks to Capcom’s John Diamonon. Over at the PlayStation.Blog, Diamonon decided to answer some questions from the fans. One fan in particular decided to ask about the future of Dead Rising and express his desire for the game to make it’s way towards the PS3. What did Diamonon say?
You haven’t seen the last of Dead Rising.
… I’m fighting the urge to squeal in delight. Of course, any rational individual will say that this hints at nothing, or perhaps it’s a hint at a sequel, which would be well and good. But I counter with “Why would you give PS3 owners a sequel to a game they never played?”… “besides making money”…
Anyways, when he was pressed for details by another inquisitive soul, Diamonon replied with:
Not confirming anything, just hoping.
…huh? That doesn’t really add up, I don’t think. In fact, that’s just confusing in context to the rest of the discussion. You give us a wink and a nudge that something with Dead Rising is coming, then you tell us that it’s just wishful thinking on your part?
I call balderdash on you, good sir. Balderdash! (thanks for the heads up, “KLerner14″)
