‘Rock Band’ announced for Wii; due June 22nd

Wii fans, you are finally going to be able to rock out along with your PS3 and Xbox 360 brethren, as Harmonix, MTV Games and The Evil Empire have announced that Rock Band will be on sale for the Nintendo Wii on June 22nd. Knowing that they screwed the pooch as far as the Wii release goes (why wasn’t this released months ago?), Harmonix hopes to apologize by offering five bonus tracks on top of the 58 songs already featured in the game.

Rock Band for Wii will retail for $169.99, and include the game, drums, microphone and wireless guitar. If you have friends who play with your Wii (*snicker*), you can pick up an extra guitar the same day.

So, months late, Wii owners finally get in on the rocking out. Welcome to the party.

No DLC, No online vs play = No buy.

I blame EA on this horrific fuck up of a late port. As Nintendo has both online play figured out (see: Smash Bros) as well as downloadable content on the way (WiiWare + more already announced)
