Remember how a week or so ago we reported that Resident Evil 0 for the Wii was strictly a Japanese affair? Well it appears that Capcom may consider bringing it to the United States after all.
Capcom’s top US PR honcho, Chris Kramer, has made the statement that Capcom Entertainment and Capcom Europe will both evaluate the possibility of bringing Resident Evil 0 to territories outside of Japan if the title proves to be a smashing success back home. On Kramer’s community blog, he speaks about RE:0, and mentions that should RE0 “blow up huge” like Resident Evil 4 did, Capcom may look into some kind of worldwide distribution.
Is it in production? Yep. Is it coming to Japan or Europe? Probably not. For various boring corporate reasons, Capcom Entertainment and Capcom Europe have both decided to take a pass on this particular Wii-make. We are watching the progress on the game, and if it ends up blowing up huge like RE4 Wii did, we’ll evaluate the possibility of bringing it over here and flipping the lingo sos that y’all can read it.
Because in the end, the almighty dollar always gets the final word.
Personally, unless Capcom was to remake RE:0 to play like RE4, I really don’t care. I have RE:0 for the GameCube, and that’s really all I need. I don’t need wiggle-waggle controls for a game like that. In fact, I think they would hinder the game more than help it.
