Racist Resident Evil 5 Trailer is Racist

I have a confession to make: The new Resident Evil 5 trailer is not racist. In fact, it is far from racist: It is fucking awesome.

Let’s quickly go over what we now know about the game based on the new trailer released by Capcom:

  • Besides the fact that it stars Chris and is set in Africa, we now know that Las Plagas returns.
  • In addition to that we see new environments outside the African villiage, including what looks like a foundry and a mine.
  • We also see that our favorite chainsaw-carrying madman has returned, albeit a few pounds lighter.
  • We are introduced to a new female protagonist, which does not answer the question of “will Claire come into play?”
  • The infected can actually speak something resembling coherant English.
  • The leech at the end of the trailer: Could it signify the return of the long-forgotten T-Virus?

    • No matter how you slice it, if you aren’t at least a little excited for Resident Evil 5 at this point, there’s just no helping you. Resident Evil 5 will be coming out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in early 2009.

      Why do people insist a good game such as RE5 is racist? Capcom is a good company, and RE is a good series.

      If they want a game to call racist , then a white man killing Japanese humans(not zombie) in RedSteel is a likely target but no one spoke of that. The fact that the Japanese must be pissed off for the ww2 nukes should brought as much attention but why not so?

      I’ll tell you why, because the racist argument in these games are weak and don’t apply at all.

      Now, since Ubisoft abandoned Nintendo, if ever redsteel2 comes out i could already see disgruntled wii owners posting headlines! Infact, not only RS2 but any ww2 game for that matter! lol.

      Also, boxing and martial arts games where you are white should never pit you against a black man! The imagery! The horror! (sarcasm)
