Pro Gamer Tom “Tsquared” Taylor Scores Dr. Pepper Deal

Dr. Pepper, the beverage that people across the world either love or hate or are indifferent to, has announced that they have signed a sponsorship deal with Major League Gaming cyberathlete Tom Taylor.

Anyone who follows MLG know Tom Taylor better by his handle, “Tsquared”, while people who watch X-Play on G4 know him as “that douchebag who won’t shut up about Halo 3“.*

Taylor is quoted in the New York Times about his celebrity status within gaming circles:

It’s not like I’m Tom Cruise or Usher walking down the street or anything like that, but it’s gotten to the point where you have to look your best when you go out… I carry a Sharpie around, like Peyton Manning.

Starting next January and continuing through April, you will be seeing Tsquared’s mug plastered all over 20 oz. Dr. Pepper bottles. So long as it stays on Dr. Pepper bottles, Tsquared and I won’t have any problems. But if he starts slapping his name on soundcards like another famous professional gamer who will go unna–FATAL1TY–med, I may firebomb his house. And MLG headquarters.

And his girlfriend*.

*All lightheartedness aside, Tom, if I see a “Tsquared” line of video cards from nVidia, I will seriously fuck you up. Like… seriously… with a broom stick, or somethin’…
