Play as Barack Obama in ‘Commander in Chief’

While they may not seem like immediate best buddies, politics and video games have made some pretty nice bedfellows in the past. For instance, one of the best political games on the market is the campaign simulator, The Political Machine.

But what about after you win the White House? There aren’t too many simulators for that aspect of the Presidency, save for Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja. However on January 20th, 2009 that will change with the release of Commander & Chief.

Unlike The Political Machine, which had you playing a campaign manager as you tried to win the Presidency, Commander in Chief has the player, as President, dealing with a variety of issues from terrorism to the bad economic climate.

I know that most of you don’t really care about these kind of games, but I love a good strategy sim. I especially appreciate a good strategy sim that doesn’t rely on having the more powerful military.
