JW is at a conference this weekend, but I just had to log on and tell you all how EXCITED I am about the latest Guitar Hero announcement.

For those of you living under a rock (or not able to log online from work *points and laughs*), Activision Inc. announced today that they’re releasing a new GH this summer based solely on the music of Aerosmith.

I think I just creamed my jeans. Seriously. Aerosmith is my FAVORITE band of all time.
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will have about 30 songs, and players will be able to work through Aerosmith’s career – from their “Dream On” days to more recent hits like “Just Push Play”. I’m assuming those are some good guesses at song choices, anyway. There hasn’t been a list released yet. We can only hope that they’ll skip over the travesty that is “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” *barfs a little in my mouth*

This opens up a whole new door for GH. I imagine that this is a little test to see how well a specific title does. If we all go out and buy in hordes, maybe they’ll do some more band-centered games. Metallica? Red Hot Chillie Peppers? Queen? They’re taking a whole difference approach than Rock Band, which seems to be focusing specifically on $2 downloads. Will this gamble pay off?

I don’t know. I don’t know how many people out there love Aerosmith enough. But I, for one, will be picking it up the day it comes out. Will you?
