Nintendo: We’re Out of Ideas

I will try to refrain from making any fanboysih comments. I will try, but no promises.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo’s top dog Satoru Iwata has told the world what many would argue has been common knowledge for a couple of years: Nintendo has run out of ideas.

Wii Music completes what Miyamoto wrote in his proposal when he came up with the idea for the Wii… He was saying that he needs to think up more ideas now.

Okay, so Iwata acknowledges that Miyamoto and Nintendo needs to come up with new ideas for games. What about hardware?

Most of the ideas for accessories that we had initially come up with are out now.

We might think up some more, and we might make them if we do, but we don’t have any plans to release a whole lot more.

…oh. Well… damn.

Nintendo certainly sounds like they have a few strong titles in the works. We know we’re getting Pikmin 3, and both the Zelda and Mario teams are hard at work on… something… but what do Wii owners have to look forward to for the remainder of 2008?

Deadly Creatures. That’s what.
