Earlier this morning, we passed along a video of Postal director Uwe Boll professing himself to be a genius and other, more successful (and talented) directors like Michael Bay and Eli Roth “fucking retards”. You can see the video here.
I asked Michael Bay what he thought of Boll’s comments through Bay’s official message board. To my chagrin, Bay responded to the video, saying:
I find people who rant like that – calling shit about both me, and George Clooney – comes from someone screaming because he is not being heard. He is obviously a sad being.
When you ask “do I care”? Not in the slightest.

There may be something to this. I would imagine that after bomb (House of the Dead) after bomb (Alone in the Dark) after bomb (Bloodrayne), this constant failure which is akin to the loss of millions of dollars every year would certainly have an effect on one’s mental stability.
Or maybe he’s just too dense to know when to quit?

Eli Roth has also responded to Boll’s video, saying that Boll’s remarks about him were the “greatest compliment ever”.
So for those of you keeping score at home: Michael Bay dismisses Boll, and Eli Roth finds it kind of funny in a sad way.

Michael Bay roxxxxx he makes entertaining movies which are usually summer blockbusters and cmon critisize him how many times u want but those explosions are damn good and dont tell me u didnt like transformers

Michael Bay and other current “great directors” are what’s wrong with the industry and the reason a lot of people are giving up on hollywood, even the actors are going tv, where the production values are improving. if you are going to spend hundreds of millions on a film, why spend it all on the effects? how about a decent script and cast getting some of the funds. oooh look at the pretty explosions… transformers was a joke, but then i’m 34 y.o. and not 12.

I actually thought that transformers was awesome. Especially when you consider how horribly cheesy it could have gone.
