Metal Gear Online beta goes live on April 25

All of you who are dying to get in on the Metal Gear Online action… ha ha, sucks to be you. But more importantly than that, your delayed beta action finally has a date: April 25th.

Yes, Konami has let it be known that April 25th is the new launch date for MGO’s beta, so long as there are no “unforseen circumstances”. You know, like including a pause feature, or forgetting the maps or something — how could Konami possibly screw this up any more than they already have?

We would like to add that due to the above reasons, we will be making the following changes to the schedule:
1) Start date: Planned for 04/25/2008 24:00(PDT). While the start is planned for the weekend, it may change due to unforseen circumstances.
3) Beta Test closure: This will now be on 05/11/2008 at 24:00(PDT) rather than 05/05/2008 at 24:00(PDT)

So remember, kids — if you live on the East Coast of the US, the beta doesn’t go live until 2am on the 26th. Because that makes a ton of sense.

The new date was first announced on Konami’s Japan website, and while the English site is far easier to understand, the horrendously awful Google Translate did make the Japanese read far more entertaining, and therefore I will leave you with a small excerpt from that translation:

In particular, the area of Europe that started the beta test since 2008.04.21 07:00, the players are not created equal, a serious failure.
