If you’ve been following the continuing saga that is Blizzard’s splash page images, then you’re probably set in the idea that Blizzard is going to be announcing Diablo III this weekend at their little Paris shindig. But hold on a moment, because their latest image may just be enough to prove that we were all a bit too jumpy.

Take a look at the latest image below:

See the eyes in the middle? They look an awful lot like the Lich King’s eyes, to be honest:

But while the eyes and the ice may be a hint towards the Lich King, Blizzard is keeping the Diablo III hopes alive with a new rule showing up in the ice, which you can see by looking at the big red circle in the first image.

Oh, and they added a new section of the big, purple penguin.

Honestly, while the life-long gamer in me would love to see Diablo III, all of the meticulous investigating being done by these Diablo fansites kind of makes me hope that D3 doesn’t happen. Not right now, anyways.
