Madden NFL 09 Coming to Xbox

No, that’s not a typo — Madden NFL 09 is coming out on the Xbox 360. You know, that big, black Borg cube that you keep around solely because your 360 won’t play Deus Ex: Invisible War? Yeah, EA is releasing Madden on that.

The discovery was first made by EastBayRI, when a writer noticed that the original Xbox was listed among the consoles on a press release. Understandably confused, said writer contacted EA’s Anthony Stevenson, who had this to say:

Our consumers play a big role in deciding what platforms to release games on. Last generation consoles, e.g. Xbox and PS2, proved to still be viable platforms last year, so as long as enough people are playing on them, there’s a chance we’ll release a game for it.

…uh… hmm… what?! The original [censored for the children] Xbox?! …whatever, man. Your money to waste, I guess.

So what? So what? How about the fact the original XBox is a dead system? Microsoft isn’t making any of them anymore. They might as well release it on the Dreamcast, PS1, and Atari 2600.

  6. AntiCosX says:

Funny you all b***h about the original, but it was the dogs back in the day and people still use them for linux etc so why not release games for the console? They are still graphically able to play new releases when the game makers push themselves hard enough. To me it seems like EA are giving something back to the people (sure they are in it for the money also) They are just trying to keep one of the best consoles of all time alive.

for 2 years in a row, Ive purchased madden for 360 and have found myself reminiscing of the old days. The old days that provided better gameplay. For those 2 years, I also have experienced a freezing glitche that happens after my first season. I no longer own any EA products. I am now going to purchase an old xbox and madden 09 for it.

    I hate 360!!!

Bythe way, I now have to bang on the top of my $300 dollar white piece of crap just to get it to work. The black tank is still number one in my eyes
