Itagaki Didn’t Quit, He Was Fired

Remember when the news broke that Dead or Alive creator Tomonobu Itagaki had intended to quit Tecmo effective July 1st? Well, in a recent development to that story, Itagaki claims he was fired from the company on June 18th.

As a response to the firing, Itagaki has bumped his claim from Â¥148,000,000 to Â¥164,000,000. In US cash, that’s roughly $1,380,000 to $1,530,000. The increase in the demanded sum is to compensate for the lost pay from being fired two weeks before he was to leave the company.

So, why was Itagaki fired? Don’t bother asking him — he doesn’t know. He says he was fired “without reasonable cause.” If you ask me, it may have something to do with the lawsuit. But don’t quote me on that, I’m just a silly writer.
