Ernie Hudson, or as he will be referred to for the remainder of this piece, “Winston”, spoke about the new Ghostbusters video game to videogaming 247. While speaking with VG247, “Winston” revealed just how massive this new Ghostbusters project truly is, revealing that the script weighs in at an impressive 480 pages.
“Winston” also spoke about how the game will see the return of all the major players in Ghostbusters canon, including Bill Murray:
All the characters are back, including Bill Murray, which I was surprised at, because Bill tends to not do these things… If you look at his movies, I think the only time he ever did a sequel was with Ghostbusters. And it took five years to get him to do that.
It’s true. Bill Murray is notorious for refusing to act in sequels to his films, but Ghostbusters was the exception. Considering that fans and the writers (Aykroyd and Ramis) both consider this to be the unofficial third film, having Murray lend his voice and likeness was vitally important.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game is currently slated for a September 26th, 2008 release for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and PC.
