According to producer Wyck Godfrey, Gears of War is looking to make its feature film debut by “the summer of 2010″.

Now if you’re worried that Gears of War will turn into yet another God awful video game movie, relax. For starters, Uwe Boll hasn’t been brought up as director. Secondly, and more importantly, Cliff Bleszinski is working closely with the filmmakers to ensure that Gears doesn’t turn into a colossal turd.

No director has been announced, nor has any casting for the film. However, somehow I expect the name “Jason Statham” to somehow become attached to this project — but only time will tell.

…oh yeah — Gears of War 2 is due on Xbox 360 in November. That should hold you all over until 2010.
