EA, Crytek, nVidia, UltraPC, Partridge Family* Ready to Launch Crysis PC

Crysis Warhead launches on September 16th, and launching with it is EA’s new line of Crysis-ready PCs. These PCs are designed specifically to be able to run Crysis Warhead, and is a joint effort between EA, Crytek, nVidia and UltraPC.

So what are the specs? Well, here are the specs that matter:

  • CPU: Inten Core Duo e7300 2.66GHz
  • Video: nVidia 9800GT
  • RAM: 2GB
  • Speaking with that ultra shmecksy Chris Remo, Crysis producer Bernd Diemer explained the positives of working on a game with a specific PC in mind:

For us, it was really helpful, because we sort of had a hard cap… You couldn’t say, ‘It works on my computer, looks great on my machine.’ No no no, this is the benchmark, guys. If it sucks on this, the whole thing sucks. For us as a team, that was really valuable. We had a tangible border we could bump our heads into.

I’m not going to be picking one of these up: I’m perfectly happy with my Pentium D 2.8GHz, nVidia GeForce 8600 GT and 3GB RAM. But, if your PC is lacking in any department, now is the time to pick one up.

    *May not include Partridge Family
